Hello,

I would like to recieve feedback on one of my tracks, from my more experienced peers (and folks in general).

It is an orchestral track, the kind of thing you'd find in a movie trailer or as part of a film score.

The MP3 may be found here:

Just say what you got to say. Don't be afraid of sounding harsh. The good, the bad, I'd like to hear it. If you can do this I would be most grateful.

Feedback will be returned to the best of my ability.

There is some potential ideas going on here but it is essentially a serious of orchestrated (all be it with good samples) crescendoing chords? I'm not hearing motif or melody in any off it.

There is a lot going on as well, I would take one section and develop from that. The first string section, should be maintained as the counterpoint string comes in, but again that is not really a melody it is just arpeggio chords again.

Take string section you have make 4 bars intro, 8 bars A melody, 8 bars A melody with counterpoint, 8 bars B melody, 8 bars A melody with counter point and new instruments for chordal progression. The gong might seem dramatic but it is overused.

Production wise you need to pull back on the drums for a while - when you listen to the latest Michael Bay action flick there is no doubt those big sequenced Korean drums are going on, but they are in a context of a richer composition. You might want to start to consider stereo position, reverb and varying dynamics of instrument groups.

Thank you for your wise words and for the sound advice you wrote. I am in the process of implementing some of these techniques into my upcoming works which I will post here in due course.
