Okay, thought I might post an orginal of the band I was recently working with on that cover tune (just to show that they CAN in fact write something...:))

I didn't record or mix this song. I did master it though for a re-release of 3 songs that is being shopped around.

Anyway, enjoy. Feedback about the band is welcomed, but complain to someone else if you don't like the tracking and/or mixing....;)

Wow! Very nice, sonusman! Real solid pop tune (ala Vertical Horizon and such) with production as good as anything I hear on the radio. I really like the keys and other electronic sounds -- it takes what would otherwise be straight-ahead guitar pop and kicks it up a level (but I'm a bit biased towards that sound...) ;-)>

I'd be very surprised if you didn't see some interest from whoever you're shopping it to (unless you sent it to Metal Blade records or something of the like...) ;-)>. I'd love to offer up some recording wisdom about now, but I can't hear anything I'd do differently... Keep it up!

Ed, funny you mention it, but Im not particularly fond of the mix...like the song....
 
Me giving you mastering advice is like me telling Jordan how to dunk... ;)
but ... I think a slight cut at about 240Hz helps clean it up a little.
Achh, don't listen to me. It sounds great as is.
I actually like the mix for it's genre ... really glossy and slick (although the lead vox is too low in spots, imho). Definitely pro level, but we expect no less from you Ed! :)
