I woke up and expected to have a few comments about this tune...Until I realised I forgot to post it last night.

So anyway, it should be the first tune that plays, unless the player goes nuts. Make sure it's OTHER SIDE(not the other side)

Cool tune Rami, I like the groove, and all the styles you've kinda borrowed from to fit it into another cohesive jammin tune...

As far as the mix, sounds really good, but somehow a little flat in the context of livelyness...(that is a nit pick) and the vox could be brought up a tad in the verses... Maybe add some stereo room reverb to bring out the livelyness... I dunno, maybe it's too compressed?? the drums? something that I can't quite put my finger on...everythin sits pretty well into their respective 'pockets'...no real complaints on the EQ or the mix other than the vox... Good tones on the guitars/bass/drums....great snappin snare.... real cool changes too...

All in all, great work man, super tight, love the end part w/ the timing!!

Oh man!!!! I hate when that happens....

Cool tune again man. I love the bass tone, and what you are playing, but it seems to get buried once in a while...maybe bring it up just a little?

As always, drums sound great, and have very cool beats. (BEatZ). :D
I like the way they sound, and how they fill up the song. Cool vocals, and lyrics. Nice job putting together "the other side"....the layering and such is cool, and makes it real smooth.

Excellent tune man. Great, straight up rocker.

Thanx for the advice guys. So I should bring the bass up in the verses??? I wanted the verses a little dry to contrast the choruses, but maybe it lacks a bit of life. I didn't want everything BIG all through the tune. I''ll take all that into account...thanx alot.

Cool intro - very strat-ish....

The main part comes in with lots of balls. Guitars have a good raunch and the rhythm w/lead continues to remind me of Richards.....

Excellent chorus "the other side" as Dogman said - great layering/panning. Actually sounds like a keyboard backing this up.

The ending with the repeated chorus' is fabulous - sounds like a pro edit from a high class studio.

Drums are great - can hear the effect of the pre on the snare I think. It sounds thicker/darker maybe.

Excellent fade out....

One of your best works yet!

:) :D :) :D

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!

Hehe...Thanx Ido. Those are vocals, but I see what you mean.

Thanx for the review, buddy. I'll re-mix this a few more hundred times before I make it a final. Yeah, put the snare (as well as just about everything else) through the pre.

By the way, I mailed out your copy of "Thinkin Out Loud" yesterday. I mailed out a few this week, so some people might have already received theirs...I know RayC did, and he lives in Australia, so I'm guessing others have received theirs, too.

Looking forward to getting the CD - should be here Monday or Tuesday I would guess. I'll let you know when it comes in....

Cool man...I really am looking forward to your opinion on it. I'm curious to know if the CD sounds better than the MP3's you've heard.
Anyway, you know that your opinion is one of the most important to me here, and I really appreciate the time you take to listen other people's music while rarely posting your own.
I love you , mang...:D :D :D :D

I have found that the cd does have better quality to it...more depth if you will. Part of that could be that it sits in tghe stereo, and is listened to on a much better system than my pc, but even hearing the tracks in my truck, they sound much fuller.

Cool Dog...I think a big part of that is that a CD is WAV files as opposed to MP3's....Glad you listen to it in your truck. I still can't get myself to listen to it in my car. :)

RAMI,
Your player is playing UP. Can't get passed Dirty water so I'm downloading the new one.
As to sound quality. The CD is big, fat & LOUD. Clarity & detail gallor. I have a greater respect for your work now having heard it in a quality playback format. MP3's are convenient - THE END.
I took the CD downstairs to my recording cave so I could play it on a good system & play it LOUD - that's what is made for I'm sure. Even developed a better understanding of your lyrics too. You're lyrics reveal the more hidden aspects of your on line character.
My missus LOVES the Bush pisstake out takes.
Somethings happening with my ADSL broadband - the time frame for the download is 10min +.
I'll get back to you shortly.
I'm back...
Funky, good lyric & theme -
The layered vocals are truly ace.
the only sound missing from this track is a Gizmo or Ebow to match the mushness of the outro. Have you heard 801's 2nd album Now Listen (it has the Gizmo on a couple of tracks too)? If not this has strong links in the use of layered vocals & particularly the fade out and the smooth lead. What effect/s were you using on the guitars may I ask?
Very impressive outing just from a production perspective let alone the song writing & perfromances.
Oh, I wanted to ask - what mastering did you do/have done for the CD?
To sum this latest song up...BLOODY HELL!

Ray...Thanx alot for the comments on the CD, glad you like it. To answer your question I master in Wavelab. I keep it simple because I don't pretend to be an ME by any stretch. I just slap Magneto and the L2 on the mix and get it up to about -12db average. I try to take care of everything in the mixing process.

For this tune, there are no effects on the guitar, really. I just doubled and panned all the parts except for the leads. Some delay on the clean parts and pretty dry in the verses. I like your E-BOW Idea. I can hear that kind of sustain happening in the ending parts.
Thanx.

SIKTER....I really appreciate your comments. Thanx alot, buddy.

Yeah RAMbro I went to your site and Dirty Water came on, then I have to search for the song. Well listening to this back to back with Dirty Water, I have to say, as badass as dirty water sounded a few weeks (or months??) ago, I think your sound quality has improved even more since then. Dirty water sounds a little less punchy and a little more muddy than The Other Side. Anyway, ON to the song you are asking to review: Love the straight up funk grooves going down here. Pretty wild and extra extra tight playing. Alrighty, well sorry, have no suggestions to offer on this one. Just sounded real good, and especially dig funk. Okay, well 1 thought of... at 2:54 and beyond, when the chorus starts over again, the start of the repetitions sound a little too much like an edit point to my ears... something about it... maybe a little too sudden or no echo from the previous part (??) anyway, good shiiiiat man!

This was supposed to read LUSHNESS (not as a drunk either). I had a really bad typo day galore was stuffed as well.
SORRY.

Thanx Snaker...I'm glad I'm geting better at my mixes, not worse. Funny about what sounds like edit points at the end. They're not really. The drums and bass are playing right through. I guess going from clean guitars to dirty and the difference in feel between the parts make it sound "edited" somewhat. I'll see if I can seam them together better, but one part is wet and the other is dry so it won't be easy. But thanx for pointing that out, dude.

RayC....I pretty much new what you meant. I just thought "Mushness" was an Aussie word that meant "really really good". :p:p:p

well rami, as par for your course, another stellar effort. everything is played and represented very well. drums seem to sound better on this track than usual, and thats saying a lot considering your drums are always top-notch. content-wise, i dont think its your best song (that ive heard anyway), but thats just personal taste. its still a great piece thats played and recorded VERY well. fantastic job overall. :)

Although I don't care for the style at all, I think the song sounds very good production wise; good imaging, balance, vocals, etc. Very nice.
