I hope I am not swamping the mp3 board too much but i have another track. i want to keep them coming.

I am at number 9 now. This song is recorded all in 1 take. It is also very short. I notice now that the S are distorted too much aswell. Perhaps I need a spit shield thingy.

What do you think? A little different from the last too I hope.

If you have 2 mins.

Hey twist. thanks for checking out the last song. Yup i figure I this is a great way to remember a great time. An american pal forgot his spanish guitar at my flat so I have one for a bit. very nice!

And thanks erichenryus for dropping into the website to say hi. Makes me want to write more.

Erland,
I like the song a lot........has that old Beatles sound goin on especially with the b/g vox, you have a damn good voice. Fact is, now that I think about it Norwegian Wood comes to mind. I'll have to listen again now!

bd

BTW, I hope that's a chair making that noise at the end!!!!!!:D

I was about to say the same thing.... very Beetlesque 60's pop-rock. And you pulled it off very well (as expected :p).

Groovy stuff man, as usual.

btw... are you saying that you don't even use a pop-filter for your vocals???? What is the deal with you? You don't even try, and your recordings sound great. You could record using nothing but a curled up piece of construction paper and a fisher-price tape deck and your stuff would still sound better than mine....

***WATYF goes off to sulk in the corner...

why is it that all of the feedback to everybody's posts are ALWAYS:

"hey great job, you really pulled it off" or something of that ilk...

???

people here need honesty. and honestly this song is really bad. and it's over 5 minutes of BAD.

LOL... did you actually listen to the song?

...it's 2 and a half minutes. :p

You're right... there's a lot of back-patting that goes on around here,... but you're blowin' smoke up the wrong ass on this one.

Sorry dude... but you're blowin' smoke up the wrong ass on this one.

you're right, it is only 2 and half minutes. my mistake. and yes i did listen to it. it still needs to hit the recycle bin.

Nice song. Liked the addition of handclaps in the second verse. I think you need 3 or 4 sets of them though. That'll give the some depth.

You could probably bring up the vocal parts just a bit. How about doubling the harmony parts?

Somehow I think the "answer back" vocals aren't working as smoothly as they might. Can't put my finger on why though.

But all in all a real catchy song. I enjoyed listening.

...still waiting for a reason.

Here are mine....

The guitars are recorded well. Nice stereo image. The vocals are recorded well. Nice and clean. The pitch is on. The voice is unique and very easy on the ears. No over-compression of any of the elements (like you find a lot aroudn here). No psychotic EQ issues (like you also find a lot around here). It's catchy. It's got a likeable 60's vibe to it.

There... I gave you 10 reasons why it's a perfectly good recording....

now,... you can try to back up your "critique" with something substantial, or you can just sit there and look like someone who slams other people's music for no good reason.

btw... I don't give pats on the back for nothing. Erland gets kudos because he deserves them. You may have had a point in many of the other threads... but you haven't got one here.

I think someone's jealous of you erland ;)

Who pissed in your cheerios super_critic?

WATYF hit it on the head, dude's blowing smoke up the wrong ass. Blow some more smoke up Erland's ass and it's gonna come out another great tune when he farts.

Now, on to Erland's tune.......

You know I love your tunes. But.. this definatley left me hanging. To short. But still a nice tune. This is actually shorter than my stuff lol.

Cheese Factor: I don't care if you consider some of your music cheezey, as long as it's got a nice melody and sticks in my head it's good to me. Hell, I like cheese.

Mix: overall I like it. One take....lol just put a bullet in my head will you? I was forced to get a digital multitrack because no one made tape that could rewind enough times for me.

Keep posting Erland, It's a highlight of the day when I get to download a new Erland tune.

cheers!

...where'd ya go, super_critic????

Come on now.... I'm not tellin' you to f#©k off... or calling you names...

...I'm giving you a substantive critique, and asking you to do the same...

So let's go... back up that caustic rhetoric with some tangible musical analysis...

what's wrong..... cat got your tongue??

(Sorry for hijacking your thread Erland.... but I just love playing with trolls :D)

This song deserves shades. It's a cool summer song!

Slow down on these song posts! I can't keep up! :) I guess there is no time to slow up as the summer always goes fast.

Keep up the great work.

Things I liked: the shaker, the chorus melody (like usual), the backgrounds. The chair! :D

Things to fix: shaker seemed a little loud. Something sounded crackly.

You're probably on to the next already. Same bat time. Same bat channel.

Hi Erland,

Nice tune,great harmonies.

Your voice sounds a little different on this one, more pop vs.your solo sound.

I think your accent is less obvious, perfect fit for this song.
I like it,(although I think your accent is very cool!)

Amazing the sound you get with just one instrument and voices.
Just talent,that's all!:D

You lost the right guitar at the end for a couple of seconds,I guess that was intentional?

Good luck on your challenge,
Pete

BTW-I hope that noise was a chair moving at the end!:D

lovely.

Thanks for listening guys. Allways great to read this in the morning after a post.

Cheers Watfy for dropping in to say hi on the website. You the man by the way. :p nice, great, I managed to get the right 60s feel. grooovy. I just have the mic, boss and guitar, plus some bits and bobs. :) The song was written in 20 mins and recored in about an hour, So I am chuffed by that.

Hi bdbdbuck, thanks for listening. Beatleesk, nice. Gosh, i hope tat is a chair!

Hey TripleM, cheers. Yeh the hand claps were definately needed, I rechon more is better too. A little thicker with the vocal too for sure. I think the backing doesnt sit that well becasue Itw as all one take, warts and all. thanks again.

Scott, Lol. Nice. Cheers. yh the song is real real short, bit of tease, under 2 mins. But the song is really abit of a joke message to a friend anyway so I kept it short. Yeh a little cheese is good sometimes. Thanks for the encouragement. Just nealed another but its really is different? later

skids. now thats cool. Thanks for having a wee listen. Yup, lots of plops in this one, really rough, perhaps I redo it. Seriously, cheers.

Hi muzeman, thats great that you checked this out. Thanks alot. I wanted to try something a little different and so tryed to sound like someone else. the song was really rough written and recorded. te last verse was made while recording so there are lots of funny noises in this. Pete, gosh i hope at was a chair too. thanks for checking out the Challenge. Cheers for the boost.

Hey Erland,

Would you mind putting Always on your mind back on your site for a little while?

I'm doing a comp CD of tracks to show my friends the talent out there and really want that tune on it

I haven't gotten to this tune yet but I liked everything you put out so far...
