Beans do it for me!

And within about a half an hour! No stopping it.

The EV RE320 ------ google it up and take a look . ~ Gotta have one!

Yeah............ I know, I've seen it. Been trying to forget about it, but NO, you have to bring it up again, (damn you) ;) I got a lot of bills............. but soon.

Yeah, I know, soon here for me. Maybe at the end of the month! :)

Sorry ..... I just couldn't help myself on that one Aaron.

Here is a link

We just got this in at the GC where I work. I've had my eye on an RE20 for a while, but we didn't carry them and I didn't feel like ordering one. Plus, they were expensive. We sell the RE320 for $299! I almost couldn't believe it. Not really sure what they're doing to make it cheaper, but it still feels nice and sturdy. So anyway, the point is, I bought one. I'll have to wait for a final verdict until a better singer comes into my place to record, but so far my impressions are that it is incredibly smooth. I did a bit of a comparison with an e835 I have and I would say the RE320 has more low end (but not that much proximity effect, which is not what I expected) and a super smooth top end. The mid scoop switch is pretty subtle, at least on my voice, but I haven't tried it on a kick drum yet. It's definitely a keeper. I'm excited to see if it actually works for my band's vocalist, which is the main reason I always wanted one in the first place.

Coolieo!
Be sure to check back in with more experimental data Big cheese.

Here is a clip I recorded comparing the RE320 and an Audix D6 on a kick drum. The first 10 hits are the D6, the next 10 are the RE320 with the switch on flat, and the last 10 are with the switch engaged. The interesting thing, to me, is that the meters in Reaper show that the RE320 is quieter than the D6, but it sure sounds louder to my ears. It may just be that I don't have a sub or much bass response from my monitors, though. The RE320 definitely seems like a more flexible choice. Pretty sure I need to retune my kick, though...

Er... well, what's a good place to upload a wave file for sharing? I can never get the attachments here to work, and they don't except wave files anyway. It's only 5 MB...

Ya tease! you can upload it with your message as an attachment go - advanced - manage attachments - add files -

Well, I tried that, but it wouldn't take the wav file. Anyway, here's a maximum quality mp3, so hopefully that will suffice.

I'd have to say I didn't like the sound of the 320 and couldn't notice any difference between the 2 switched positions. Nowhere near enough low end for my ears. Thanks for the post tho!

With the switch on, there is less midrange. If you go back and forth between them, you can tell, but it isn't glaringly obvious. I definitely think the D6 punches a little more, but I would hesitate to say that it actually has more low end--I imagine that if you cut out more of the mids, the RE320 would seem to have just as much low end. I love the D6, but I think I would grab the RE320 if I wanted to do some jazz or acoustic stuff. My next band practice is Wednesday, so I should be able to get some vocal tests done then (I'll be comparing it to an e835). I am also thinking of trying it on a guitar cab and comparing it to an e609 and an i5. I could also do some tom tests if you want--I've got a couple D2s and a D4 I can compare it with. Anything else you'd like to hear?

Why you record your band practice?
