The Neve Mystique

I mentioned Neve Consoles in another thread. Until this past year, I had been out of the recording game for 10 years or better so needless to say, I haven’t kept up with things very well. I remember as far back as 1980 or so, a single refurbished channel from an old Neve board was fetching as much as $2000. I was just curious as to how much they’d bring today considering the way prices for music products have skyrocketed. Anybody have any clue? (Don’t bother doing a search on them; I could have done that myself. I just thought somebody might know off the top of their heads).

Thanks

Well the new Amek Channel in a box (pure path) is pretty much exactly that. Rupert Neve design single rackmounted channel. Mic Pre with 4 band EQ and compression for ballpark $2500 -$3000

Thanks BDeetz!

Boy I thought they'd be way higher than that even for a replica. It's still more than I would care to spend but it's nice to know that they aren't too outrageous.

Hey Ametth, Give an old man a break; after all these years, I can barely remember that Les Pauls come in standard, custom, and deluxe. I can't begin to remember specific model numbers of much of anything, especially something that far back. With any luck I'll still remember my way home after work tonight. If not, my girlfriend has often said, "Happiness is...waking up and finding your boyfriends picture on the back of a milk carton." At least one of us will be happy!:)

Yeah but can you ride a bycicle backwards while strumming your guitar to the 1812 overture?:):):)

Boy some guys have all the luck...

Check ebay or digibid. I've seen a lot of NEVE console stuff. Mic pre's for one strip for 2k. Its fun to dream. Am I normal? I get excited when I see some of this stuff!!Jim

my brother

calls it my porn. i guess it is. i look at pictures of recording equipment and F1 cars all day on the computer while playing guitar and this is only interupted by eating, sleeping(sometimes), bathroom, and working out/soccer.

Relax guys; it's all just like in that movie, "The Matrix". Soon we'll wake up and find that our whole lives were nothing but a dream. In real life we're all moon microbes gleaning the landscape for tasty lunar bacteria during the day and dodging meteor showers at night. There’s no music in our homeland but we don’t care because we have no ears.

Think I’ll keep dreaming awhile….
