The Musicians Workshop - Group Buy Invoicing/Payment

While we're talking about adding fields, an alternate email address, and maybe even a phone number (both optional) would be good to add. In the time it takes from start to finish, things change and people fall out of touch. But I don't mean to over-complicate the system either -- we all know how that goes.

I have added both of these fields to the User Console under the "Edit User Details" button. I didn't include this on the initial registration form, but you can add them once you have registered... Should work out Ok...

Maybe adding a shipping section or at least a way of getting to that page from this one. There it would show the same type of invoicing for shipping with a paid indicator and also the shipping tracking number, date and other info. Hope this makes sense! :)

I also added a new section, on the main page, in the User Console that will contain all of the shipping details... I won't go over them here, but you can login to the User Console and see those additions... I'm sure they'll be self-explainitory...

Sorry these took so long... These additions on the surface don't look like much in the way of work, but you gotta remember that for every addition to the front-end, the part that is viewed in the User Console, I also have to build a piece into the backoffice portion of the User Console, the ADMIN section, for Chance to admin the information...

At any rate, if anyone has any more ideas or suggestions, please don't hesitate to voice them... I don't mind doing them in order to improve the system..

Thanks in advance,

Randy

when I log in, I get

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e'

Invalid use of Null: 'Replace'

/MUSICIANSWORKSHOP/UserConsole/Home.asp, line 47

(fun, fun :) ) -- thanks again for everything, btw, we all know this is a lot more work than meets the eye.

Should be fixed now... Please try again...

That's exactly what it was... an Invalid use of Null: 'Replace'... I was trying to perform a replace function on a null... Must've been 1/2 asleep when I did that...

I get dizzy just thinking about it

Well we're all here to catch you if you fall ...figuratively, not literally. I mean if you really fall, you're likely to smash your head pretty hard into the floor. Best case scenario is a concussion, but a gash and some hemoraging is more likely. Of course they'll be able to stitch that up with little or no complications at the emergency room ...provided someone's around to notice the fall and dial the phone for you. It's probably best that you don't fall. As a matter of fact, I'd recommend not getting out of your chair ever again. It's just too damn risky. Stay seated, stay safe!

WOW! That was fast Randy! Great job.

The good thing is, once this program is written, it will work perfectly for all group buys.

Again, great job and THANK YOU!:D

Thanks!

Yes, it can be used for other group buys as well... Matter of fact, the way that I developed it, multiple group buys can be ran from it all at the same time and each kept seperately...

Thanks again!

Mmmm....more group buys!....arrgggghhhhhh!!!!

Holy Crap! I just had a good idea for a suggestion. I'm sick of having to type in my email address and password each time I want to go to the User Console. Any chance that we can make it so I don't have to do that tedious task over and over and over and over and.... ?

Consider it done!

I just added this to the User Console login page... There is a checkbox just under the password field that is labeled "Remember Me on Next Visit". Check that box the next time you login, and the next time you visit the page it will remember and auto-fill the email address and password for you... You'll still have to re-type the CAPTCHA though...

Also, you have to have cookies enabled on your browser... Most do, but just thought I'd throw that out there...

Damn Randy, who's better than you?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Not that you don't have enough to do, FYI, when I try to edit my User Details here's what I get:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e'

Invalid use of Null: 'Replace'

/MUSICIANSWORKSHOP/UserConsole/EditUserDetails.asp, line 29

Thanks!

Earl

So I understand why you might use a CAPTCHA on the initial signup page to prevent bots from maliciously signing up other people, but why on the user console login page?

I agree, I wouldn't think it's really needed once you're registered.
For some reason I have the hardest time with CAPTCHAs.

Ok... The CAPTCHA is gone...

I also spent some time tonight re-working the site a bit, cleaning it up some and giving a new look... Got tired of that brown stuff I originally built it with... Now it's BLUE!

Looks a lot better! You rock Randy.

One thing I think might be helpful is to have a link on the Registration page to the user console login page.
