One of my favorite classic TV shows and a fun song to play. I've had this sort of surfy/punk/metal arrangement of the song in my pocket for a while now and have been picking at it for a few weeks. There was a thread in the cave in which I compared dwillis to Herman Munster, so this ones for him. :p

Theme from "The Munsters":

Any comments/critiques welcome and appreciated. :)

OMG, this is awesome. Greg, I checked out your music yesterday. I'm super impressed by the shit you do. I listened to about 4 of your tunes yesterday. The VH one, I think a ramones tune, etc etc. As for this song... The only thing that really stood out to me was an overcompressed OH track (I can hear it in the ride). I'm a drummer, so thats pretty much all I listen to though. LOL

Whats your drum set-up, etc?

Joe.

Thanks guys. :)

VOXVENDOR - Thanks a lot man. I don't know why, but my cymbals stood out too much in this recording, so I compressed them with a lot of ratio and a fast attack and release to tame them down but still get the "whoosh" out of them. I tried turning them down some, but then I lost the ride a little. I wanted the ride to be sort of sloppy and subtle with very little ping. Maybe I went too far. I'll play with it more later. Thanks for the feedback.

My setup is a basic ancient 5pc rogers kit with pinstripes on the toms, Aquarian super-kick bass head, and a reverse dot emperor x on the snare. 7-pc CAD-pro mic kit with recorderman-style O/H's going to a Firepod. Nothing fancy.

Dogman - Thanks bro. :)

I've seen pics of you playing live....you got pics from your home setup?

Rockin'. Great mix.

Changed one note in the first lead gtr theme (second to last note of the phrase :p ) but I like it just as much with the major 7th as opposed to the minor 7th.

Move the physical position of the ride. I had to do that with our set to get the best sound out of it and so its settings wouldnt affect other cymbals. I put ours close to the floor tom so the tom mic as well as the overhead on that side work in tandom on the ride.

Very cool. Have a listen to mine, it was done over 10 years ago.

Dogman - I took everything down last night for a gig tonight. I'll set up again this weekend and snap some pics.

variaxman - Thanks bro. :)

Timothy Lawler - I don't know anything about major or minor 7ths, but thanks a lot for listening. Glad you liked it. :)

Bushmaster - Thanks for the advice. My ride is already real close to the floor tom, and I usually don't have this problem. I'm okay with it though. It doesn't bother me too much on this song anyway. Everyhtings broke down right now, so when I set back I'll pay closer attention to everything.

Sillyhat - Thanks. Your version is cool too. Very heavy.

junplugged - Thanks, I think. :p

Ddue, that is tool cool. I heard it already from trolling your page before. GREAT modernized treatment... it's great fast like that!

About 12 years ago, I was in a band locally called Rocky Ruckman and the Beat Heathens (bass) and we did it too, I have a capture off the soundboard from a gig, the mix sucks, but you can hear it... It was a cool band. The sax player doubled on keys, and the keyboard played doubled on trombone; and Rocky had so many voices inside his guitar it was scary. We were known as the "world's best Halloween band".. we did covers like this tune, Frankenstein, Dead Man's Party, Hocus Pocus, a bunch of Warren Zevon stuff...

Here the Munsters...

and Frankenstein...

Dude, Larion yalls version of the Musters is awesome! That was spot on. Sounded like the real thing. Very impressive. Great bass line too.

Thanks for the listen and comments. :)

Heavy as shit, man!!! I love this. No nits, just a rocking good time.
