I went through and remixed some more of my older tunes. Still learning. I imagine a few months from now I'll go back and redo them again. The first is a short original called "The Mower" (I need to develope it further). The others are covers of Alice Coopers "Second Coming/Dwight Frye" (an opus) and Metallica's "For Whom The Bells Tolls", my son is playing drums on it. We get off track at times, but we had fun. Please forgive my singing. As usual Im playing all the instruments, mixing and everything else, except the drums on the Metallica tune. I included the lyrics for "The Mower" below. Enjoy

As I sit here on my mower
Im all alone with my thaughts
Never know which one to hold to
So many it drives me nuts

I shake my head to clear them all out
But I know I just cant win
I try to focus on my mowing
But those thaughts have crawled back in

Solitude of mowing the yard
Just me and the grass
Its like looking in to my soul
Thank God, just one more pass

I shake my head to clear them all out
But I know I just cant win
I try to focus on my mowing
But those thaughts have crawled back in

As I sit here on my mower
Im all alone with my thaughts
Never know which one to hold to
So many it drives me nuts

The Mower
Nice ominous bass intro.
All 'round quite good. the mix is pretty good though the bass gets a little lost a couple of times. It retains its toppy definition but the bottom end gets caught up in the guitars.
I like the wah work too.
The B'ground chants like ohhhs are a cute addition.
A genre piss take and an homage at the same time - and you carry it off.
I have to admit that I didn't really pay attention to the drums so they must've done their part well enoough without dominating or gooing west.
Good remix!

Thanks Ray. The old drums were too much. I now have to learn how to do a music video. Another forum member gave me a hell of an idea. Its gonna be fun.

For Whom The Bell Tolls: Metalica should take a few lesson from you on how to mix bass into a song. I got so lost on that tone that I didn't notice if you got sidetracked or not.

Mower: Really cool tune. A music video, huh? Yeah, I can see that. I have to parrot rayc's comments on the bass. Ominous without taking over the song.

I didn't listen to the Alice Cooper cover, hopefully I'll have time to get to it later.

Your mixing is getting better. Keep at it!

Thanks. Im trying to get my son to be the star of the video. He said no, but I'll keep pushing. Charging the old camcorder now. Metallica has a new album coming out. Hope its better than the last.
