The mix that made me give up on digital consoles!

Mixed on a Yamaha O2R. Way too many hours spent working with the horrible dynamic processors. I don't feel the tracking is very good, but that isn't my fault, I was just asked to re-mix this song.

Anyway, it is what it is.

It's not that bad Ed... a bit harsh-sounding, and there's a lot of distracting noise on the guitar at the intro...

I see what you mean by the tracking... the drums don't have enough presence for my tastes - not in the mix, but in the recorded sound.

Still, overall it's still pretty good.

I was listening to Rush lately after not having heard it in a long time... back in the late 70's and 80's when I first started hearing their stuff, I always hated their recordings - I always thought they sounded harsh and thin, yet people LOVED them!

I listened again now after many years, and with better ear-training, and man, I REALLY hate the way they sound recorded, but I still like the tunes!

I agree I think it's fairly decent - but I understand completely about those digital consoles.

I had a 01V and I gave it up and went back the the ol' multiple knobbed Mackie 24.8 - No complaints and my stuff sounds better

it is what it is,

Since you don't like the tone, I won't comment on that.

The space, however, is NICE. The balance is great.
