what's that thing called that you strap two small diaphragm condensers to for recording things like choirs, concerts, and the like?

Where would I look to get one?

I want to try and use one for overheads...

If you're talking about what I think you are, one name for it is a T-mount, and you can find one at The Sound Room

www.oktava.com

made by Sabra-Som. It costs $39.95.

Anyone know of a wider stereo bar than these? The only thing i can find that is bigger is the AEA stereo positioning array at www.wesdooley.com but it costs almost 300 dollars (a bit more than i intend to spend  )

Does anyone know where I can get a little adapter type thing... that could be screwed on that dual mic t-mount to raise one mic about 1" or so above the other for X/Ying two mic's?

Thanks Beezoboy, thats close but no... what I'm looking for is like the 6" Gooseneck, only without the gooseneck part (short male/female).
