Hey people! as always, I try to squeeze in a new recorded tune now and then, as it helps me to remember it for live applications...anyhoo, here's my newest tune...

***FYI, for those with sensitive ears...there is some profanity in this song...much like almost all my songs***

SONG: 12. Last Wave.mp3

I'm a little worried that the bass is a little muddy and I kind of feel like something is either missing, or maybe there's too much of something else, or maybe I've just heard this damn song too many times in the last few days.

As usual, this tune is my usual mix of acoustic guitars, bass, vocals, and drum machine (Our drummer hasn't even heard this new tune yet).

I'm listening on computer speakers so I can't really comment on the bass, but I really like your music. Gonna be good for the long summer ahead :)

Hey thanks Nickjc! I'm glad you dug the tunes! I wish we were sliding into summer! Enjoy, and thanks! :)

The thing that jumps out at me is the vocals seem quite a bit too loud. From what I hear of the bass it sounds ok. It's a pretty raggae sound, and I think the bass is fine for that, but bring the vocals down a bit, maybe try some light roomy reverb on it, or a very light slap delay or something, might have a cool effect with the vocal style.

hey mattamatta. Thanks for taking the time to check out the tune! I was actually kind of thinking the same thing about the vocals, but you're the first person to bring it up (including a couple other boards where i got much more feedback). I've actually got some VERY light reverb on the vocals and scattered around different instruments, but it's soooooooo damn light that it's practically transparent. this is definitely one of my driest tunes i've ever mixed. Maybe I'll try a mix where I turn the vocals down and add a bit more reverb (I actually tried slap delay, but it never sounded quite right no matter how much i tweaked it). Thanks a lot! :D
