Where is best to have my jumpers set. Should I set them so I can have phantom power? I'm confused.

if your going to connect a condenser mic(which requires phantom power) yes set your jumper to have phantom power on, if not it really doesn't matter.
Phantom Power is only concertning the Mic pre's on the 1010, are there mic pre's on a 1010
