i have only just become aware of this product, i havent seen one here in the UK yet, has anyone used one. If so what do you reckon to it. Here is a link to the website http://www.jellifish.com/

Haven't used one, but after watching the videos, I'm not really impressed. It doesn't really sound like anything more than normal guitar picking with some pick scratch noise to me. I'm not hearing the sounds they claim to be.

yeah im not that impressed either, dont really see how the $10 price tag equates...also hate that scratchy sound that it makes. If sure it would be horrible for recording purposes

A good idea completely RUINED by that scratching sound - why can they not hear how terrible that is!

If the twines were made of some soft plastic instead of metal it might work better, but as it stands now that thing is ****ing useless.

Also, the Bow sound is not a bow - it's just terrible!

Ever sound just sounds like playing guitar with a metal pick... lol i can't believe they are charging 10 bucks for that - what a load of junk! You'd be better off strumming the guitar with your wang...

What a flop! Over here in the USA, they marketed the hell outta it and immediatley became known as the "piece-of-crap-not worth 10 dollars-fake-thing".

Want some really usable textures? Save up for a little longer and get yourself a eBow...there's something you can REALLY use.

I agree with that, Ebows are quite cool - but I wouldn't buy one at £70 - maybe if they were half that price I think it would be worht it... but whats wrong with a dang pick!

When Ebows first came out they were so expensive that I gave up on even thinking about it. I'm surprised they are still around.

What I want is a Godley & Creme Gizmo. Now that really made a difference but was way too expensive (like the eBow WAS) and too soon in time. I read recently from someone, who still has one, that the little soft, gogged wheels that generate the sound have deteriorated & there're no replacements available. BUMMER.
I have a little remod I use for some picks but its not very interesting, requires a VERY hard pick and no-one seems to notice the difference anyway - ah, inventions.
Whatever happened to the, (Ithink...) Rose?
I'd suggest the jellyfish will be a commercial bellyflop.
Cheers

Yeah, I bought one of those jellyfish pieces of shit when they first showed up at a local shop. That thing is absolutely useless, whoever was in charge of marketing that thing should have their ass kicked real good.
It's like scraping sandpaper across your strings...not only does it sound horrible, it makes me cringe thinking about how I'm sawing my strings in half...yuck. I went back to that store and told them they were making themselves look bad by selling the thing. They had never tried it. I let them try the one I bought and they were shocked at how shitty it was. They don't sell it anymore. In fact, I'm not sure anyone sells them anymore....and they shouldn't! ;)

Yeah thats what i figured, i seen it on Guitar centers website. I am quite sure these wont make it across the pond...well hopefully....im gonna use a metal comb instead!

They arent completely useless..........they are great for relic-ing pick guards and acoustic tops whether intentional or not. Dont even demo one unless you like scratched up guitars.
