I took that Drop B Guitar test clip riff I did a while back and wrote a song around it.

The song reminded me of that old movie, the land that Time forgot for some reason and so I added barfing Dinosaur noises here and there. :D

Here's mix #1 of The Guitar That Time Forgot
Silly title, but it also could be The Time that Guitar Forgot. ;D

Beatcraft on drums
Mixcraft 3 for recording and mixing
Custom tube pre amp -> soundcard -> Guitar Rig 2

like the guitar sound. the bass sounds a little rumbly to me but I am not sure how you would get it to show up with a guitar tuned that low. like I said .. I like the guitar part a lot.

Some nice tones & tasteful licks in there. I'd like to hear it with less verb on the drums. Mix sounds good on headphones

Thanks for the listen guys.

the bass sounds a little rubly to me
It may be because I have a clean bass tone in one channel and a fuzz bass tone in the other channel. :D each Bass tone is panned 75/25%

I'll see what the drum verb is set on. It may be just the snare? The shaker has some heavy verb. :D

The bass has certain notes that are way boomy and kind of POP out at ya. the rhythm guitar is pretty much a wash of fizz under the bass. A nice fat/crunchy rhythm guitar would be nice. The lead tone works. I don't mind the reverb either.

I have a limiter on the bass but it must be my pick attack. :D

The rythym guitar could be deleted after the intro, the bass carries the melody anyway.

The rythym guitar tracks are so low in the background anyway.

I like the drum reverb also.

that pan on the bass isin't so great IMO, it draws back from imaging and directs the bass, bass should be omnidirectional so you shouldn't be able to tell where its coming from

i'd center both basses and work out a compromise between the two, one being dominant the other being distant
