After digesting everyone's comments on the original (The dream is over (Supper's Ready),
I decided to do a whole new remix and did some additional tracking. To differentiate it,
I've entitled it "The Dream is Over..." I've taken out the "Supper's Ready" as many people have suggested (to not be confused with the Genesis song). I've left the original version (vinyl intro) in case you want to compare with the new. Let me know what you think. I greatly appreciate everyone lending me their ears on the original.

love the tone of the instruments, gives it great atmosphere.

what kind of equipment you are using by the way?

some of the guitars sound a bit clashy... but that may be what you are going for...

the vocals at the beginning could be sung better - that's the only criticism i can think of...

overall, great production. really impressed

Kinda has a proggy vibe to it (early King Crimson) which I really like. Not wild about the guitars when the band kicks in right at the beginning....sound is better as the song goes....Like your bass guitar tone alot. Cool vocals and lyrics....this was a bit out of the ordinary...very cool ...I like it.

Thanks for your observations. I'm not the vocalist and he happens to be
out of state, so I'm working with what I have. I just recently uploaded a
version where the vocals are not so up front in the intro. Let me know what you think. As far as equipment, I use Ableton Live to record with a Tascam FW-1884 interface, Fender strat, Guitar Rig 2 and Vox Tonelab for my guitars, I use a lot of midi keyboards including bass and finally Matt Sorum's
drum loops from DrumCore. Hope that answers your question.

Thanks. I was pretty happy with the bass tone too.

good job my brother... Here goes feedback:

1. I would like to have the vocals a tad more in front. hotter, maybe 3 ticks up. not sure. but I like the lead voice and the BGVs are spot on and help add the dreamy element to the song.
2. mix is great.
3. great message.
4. good song sir. carry on.

Thanks cholo. I appreciate your feedback. I know what you mean
about the vocals. I plan on doing that on the next remix.

I agree with that, although might not have picked up on it without having it suggested by Vman. Anyway, no constructive criticism for you. I just wanted to check in and say that I really like it. That is all.

Thanks. I just uploaded a new intro that's more consistant with the
theme of the song as well as the outro. If you get a chance,
let me know what you think.

Thanks. I must say I have many proggy influences in my musical travels.

The ambient FX sound cool in the beginning but clean up the fadeout of those FX 0:12 unless that's intentional. Traumatic to my ears when the guitars come in. Agreed BAss roX, prolly the strongest aspect of this mix. seems like the drums are burried somewhat overall. i like when everything comes in at 2:00. agreed vox are ruff but nice work.

I agree with the prog rock label on this. Love the synths, vocal effects, slide guitars. The only two items I didn't care for were the dynamics of the drums on the intro (bit loud) and the lead guitar licks in the intro ( I heard fabulous licks later that solidified this thought). Great writing and arrangement overall.

The vocal is especially good sounding in the high parts (a rare thing). The entrance of the drumset at :35 is pretty loud.

I like this way better than the version I heard 6 months ago or so.
Still a bit of ballancing to be done I think. In some of the louder parts the vox get a bit buried. The falseto parts in the first chorus need a bit of automation or compression to bring them out.

Just a thought but in the middle of the song where the break is it would be cool to hear a swishy fade in that breaks at the same time as the vox if you know what mean. Like a ring out on a guitar that's reversed and lined up so the pick strike is at the end of the last word. I'd like something a little swishier though like wind or static fading in maybe with a snare pop at the end.

Just a thought.

Sounding very cool man. I like this way better now.
Some very cool effects you have going there.
