Ok dude...that's pretty good....I'd love to hear a better quality version....the Pure Volume player is pretty low bitrate...But it was very entertaining...

What do you use to record and how do you record the axe?

The intro is rather low volume. I have to crank my volume up quite a bit for it. The volume is up for the rest of it ok. I will have another listen, when you get it up on a different host site before I comment anymore. Lightning is pretty fast and easy.

Volume is definately better on Soundclick for the Bass and the quality is much better all around.

I personally think there is too much noise on the distortion, which seems to eat up the other instruments and vocals. It especially eats up the lead solo....moreso at 1:30, which would be a fairly good solo.

Vocals sound at a good volume. During the verses, the bass could come up some. I guess what I am listening for, is some bottom end drive. I think with the distortion contained, the bottom end of this would really kick, along with the axe soloing.

The drums seem set back a bit too much. Snare needs a bit more of a pop and the kick could also be brought up and out.

Guitars seem to be at good levels...it is just the distorted one that seems out of character.....Clean up the noise and keep the distortion.....still listening.

The panning is pretty balanced out....the guitar solo at 1:30 would be great with the boomerang effect.

Myhat...I think it is good that you have apologized to Dog. Apologizing is not always easy. Accepting an apology isn't always easy either. Kudos Dogdood!!

im palm muting in the intro so it kinda makes it harder to hear. I used an sm57 mic, a vtb preamp, lexicon lambda recording interface. A shitty crate combo amp and the rp300 pedal.

thats funny because i thought it had too much bottom end. But your right about the dist. I didn't wanna have this really metal tone but I still wanted it to sound heavy. I don't know, thats what I came up with. Its more of an over drive. I dont really know how to record leads. In fact I don't really have a good tone for lead. Any help with that?

Well, you have to watch me...I sometimes give wrong descriptions of what I hear. Like distortion for overdrive...phase for flanger...I do get confused on the sounds. So many!! :D At least you knew what I meant.

I am going to have another listen to the bottom end and see if perhaps I worded that wrong...or maybe it is just to my taste. :confused:

I would say Gorty or one of the other doods would be able to help you on the lead tone. Maybe it is adjusting the low gain to get that heavy overdrive without so much noise? I am just learning how to get a good tone myself...and seem to have a long way to go.

I think I mean a more defined low end. I like the bass in this, but it seems a bit watery...not so much thin, but light. Does that make any sense? :D
 
Cool......But it is to short. I just start getting into it then it ends.
