Argumentative...
Today is the day I purchase my first piece of recording equipment while silently biding my time, lurking in the shadows..

A M-audio Profire 610. I found it used on craigslist with a Yamaha PSR-E303 Keyboard for 200 dollars. I am praying that it is going to be in good condition outside of just physical appearance. But none the less..I'll get some kind of guarantee and I'll take a leap of faith. I have a bunch of crappy mics around(i live upstairs from a church) so I'll at least get to take a swing(or a bunt) at laying some tracks down(monitorless) ^_^ None the less...this is a big day. Wish me luck!

Great! Good luck and have tons of fun with your new world of infinite recording possibilities!

My day will come as soon as my paycheck comes in about a week at which point I will by my first interface (unless the Zoom H4n counts as an interface).

Can't wait to hear some recordings from you AddisonXI.

likewise my friend. Have my fingers and strings crossed. Even though I haven't bought any equipment I've been addicted to lurking on here and reading everyone elses fun lol. TO THE MOON!

aaah, Yea. I guess so. ^_^ It's the first of many. The process begins!

Mongol General: What is best in life?
Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.
Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
Mongol General: That is good! That is good.

Sorry, don't know why I put that...:laughings: :D

The day is yours. Didn't come with AC adapter and only a 6 to 4 pin FireWire cable. So we are powerless til the 6 to 6 arrives in the mail. Keyboard in great condition though. Nothing special but did come with midi cables so that's one less thing to worry about. So close but yet so far away. BAKAH!

Now That's a bummer!
I would be chomping at the bit waiting to get things started.

It is a rigorous process of waiting but I at least have a piece of equipment in my hands.. It's gotta work right?? RIGHT!?!!!

So, I used a small 15 inch t.v. ac adapter and it powers on. It's 12v and 4amps I think, but from reading they said it can go over on amps but don't go over 12v.. So it turns on. Trying to figure things out. This is tough work. The microphone is causing a lot of white noise. Not sure where the problem is at. It's probably simple... Reading a lot of the manual. Just wanting you to know I played back my own voice...(my first recording ^_^) But it was shadowed by the noiseyness. To the Fortress of Solitude

Well...its a mic that I borrowed from the church downstairs. So, pretty sure it's not a great mic but it's a v-tech vt1030 dynamic mic. Since I bought the box used and have zero recording experience I am not sure about anything but I have gotten the noise down a little. Still could be my computer or the air.. Lots of possibilities mixed with a bad mic that I'm sure has been dropped a time or two. It sounds decent on the sound system down stairs though.

Well when your recording just have that microphone right up close to the sound source and the noise won't be as prevalent.

Well that's the thing. All I've been doing is saying check check 1,2 and etc. So..who's flying to Memphis to help lol
