Can't You See > Thank You > Can't You See

found this the yesterday lol......
recorded from a show my old band did a couple years ago. Quality is ok. Man this brings back memories.

I played lead guitar.......BTW this wasn't our normal singer singing on this song........its the other guitar player, who for some reason insisted on singing this song even though he can't sing. ahhh ego's.....I guess thats why we are no longer a band.

its pretty rough haha

Wow, nice tone. Vocs are a bit quiet, but he doesn't sound bad...at least better than I could do .

Sweet playing. Lead sounds very good. Soulful.

Man, good tune.

Didn't mean to sound uptight  I'm actually the oppostite (most of the time anyway). I just get frustrated when I hear talented people record unoriginal music. I've played with so many people in all types of bands and I rarely see peoples true passion thru a cover, it just doesn't do their talents justice. I re-read what I wrote and I did sound like a dick (sorry) but I'll reiterate and say covers are good for practicing technique (and maybe stealing an idea or two from) but to actually spend valuable time recording/mixing/producing one seems to me like a waste of time. Why even be a musician if your gonna be unoriginal. You spend all that time practicing just to play other peoples music. Maybe you just don't have the confidence... maybe you don't have the balls...or maybe your talent isn't talent at all but justa heightened state of mockery...I don't know what the deal is. With all the nonsense in the media, why waste energy on here-and-gones when you can create the next era of music starting here and now. Jump off the ledge, leap from the cliff and fly into peoples hearts and minds with what can pour out of you as a unique individual. That's all I was trying to say...

What a load of pretentious crap.

I've played with a crapload of people, really talented and capable performers, and all of them loved recording covers. I love recording covers too.

We have the confidence, talent, chops, and balls to love and appreciate all music, whether we created it or simply interpreted it in our subtle ways.

I also know of great performers who do not write. I bet you have 1/1000th the talent of any of them.

Go away. The people here are doing a fine job on stuff they love. Take yer pretentious ass elsewhere.

Whew, now I feel better.

Playing in a band and doing some covers I can see but why use energy/time/money/talent recording someone elses song?

I dunno, because it makes you feel good? I bet you did ten or twelve things today more boring and lame than recording a cover song. Admit it. :p

ok, i'll spice things up a little, i guess. i recorded this several years ago with a friend of mine on a 4track. it's the christian rock classic "awesome god".

here's a nice fun piece of stupidity:

somewhere we also have a southern rock cover of R. Kelly's "Remix to Ignition." i doubt it'll ever see the light of day. Enjoy!

Let's see if this stupid connection is still working.

You have to have a webhost.

Most places like soundclick won't allow covers due to the potential threat from lawsuits. I don't know the exact rules (laws), but most sites err on the side of caution - as do I with lightningMP3 - I really can't afford to be sued......... :D
Im almost definite that Soundclick lets you put up covers as long as you state that it is a cover and not your own musical writings and maybe also that you dont make any money out of it, but the monye aspect is more to do with the record companies rather than Soundclick.
