Linux Man...
I am still looking for an upgrade console. I can't decide, so the purchase is on hold. I need total recall, so pretty much that means digital inthe under 10 grand market. I am looking to spend more like under 6 grand if I can.

Anyone know the price of the new Yamaha O2R96? Ihave seen many previews on it, but they always say price TBA. The mackie digital 8 seems pretty cool too.

If I got the mackie, I would probably have to get a mackie d8b used, and does that seem like a bad idea to anyone?

The Tascam Dm24s I like, but they are significantly smaller, and I am not sure about all the features.

THe Soundcraft 328XD is my final candiate. Small, but I like the price and I love soundcraft.

In summary:
Price on 02R96?
Bad idea for used digital boards?
Any other input?

I used to work with a Tascam TMD8000 console. It was the first real digital console from tascam, and the biggest they ever made. It has no moving faders, but it does have faders for all channels, so no flipping of bank switching etc. With the automationsoftware you have full automation on every single parameter.

This console can actually only be used good if you have the Tascam DA recording machines.
I know this is an older console, but it sure rocks and can be bought relative cheap these days. I would prefer it above the other (newer) Tascam consoles.

I also have an 02R which is always a good choice if bought secondhand.

I don't know the price in dollars for the 02R96 but I'm pretty sure it's out of your budget.

They are giving away UFX cards and some plugins on the D8B until the end of June. Check out the Mackie website for more info.

Thanks for the info, I will check that out later tonight.
