Your new calling! :D

Dig the tune man. It needs something tho.........Depth in everything. My sub is barely making a vibration. Vocals seem a bit sterile.

Done being a dick now. I really do like the song man. :)

Yeah, I like the song too, but yeah, it needs something. I think the vocals don't have the same space as the rest of the tracks. Like a reverb/delay thing, or lack of. Same with the lead solo guit. Maybe my thinking is too cliche...

I can see how this song would work well in the context of an album.

Yeah I'll eventually record it right, just wanted to see if it would work or not lol. I think it works, but needs a lot of work. I'm not very good with background vocals either... I think I can write some decent songs, but I just can't pull them off LOL :laughings:

but that's what happens when you write songs record them and never rehearse or perfect them. You just do it in one or two takes and you're done lol. That's how it comes out...

The song sounds great for what it is (which I'm assuming is essentially a demo). The only complaint I have is that the vocals could use a little tightening up at spot. The goal when you are using auto-tune is to make it as transparent as possible ;)

If you aren't using auto-tune then I apologize hahaha.

I pretty much agree with Jimmy - the song has promise, but the mix needs more depth and the timing tightening up in a couple of spots. There's a weird distortion on your cymbals coming through the mix. Worth working on though man :)

The timing is pretty rough. The guitars and drums don't lock in on the downbeat many times in the verses and the little fills in the chorus slow down. On a slow as shit song like this there's more room to fuck up, so you gotta be tight as hell to sound good. I think the clean arpeggio guitars sound pretty good, but the distorted guitars and lead tone are just fizz. The vocals are okay, but there's no power or life in them. It's like you're singing too quietly.

I heard the timing problems also, it really screws up the feel of the song.

I really like the song, you should do a full production for sure.

Also, Isnt there already a band called the calling or was that the title of the song?

I always like hearing your stuff.

Wow

I really like the vocals on this...but they remind me of some 80s synth band...like Tony Hadley or something, I really like them

yes there are some definite timing issues...but they arent huge its all just a little loose, most noticeably during the solo

I think for depth just a simple synth pad (or strings) with a nice reverb would fill up a lot of it, not sure how you feel about synths but thats what a pads for, padding it out :D

I really enjoyed it, I think it has a ton of potential

I'll probably speed it up a little and tune it back up to E standard. I guess I should be rehearsing and figuring out the best ways to sing etc. but most the time I just have an idea record it and never really play it again lol. I guess if I had a real band it would be different.

I like some 80s style shit KC when I get a serious working of it I'll get you to trow down some pads ;)
