Ok, although I don't really like straight pop tunes, this song just did it for me. It certainly has that Beatles quality in it. It's already wonferfully mixed. I can't find anything wrong with it. Nice one.

I listened all the other songs too, (except "this sucks", because it's real audio). The sound is great on all of those. I wouldn't change anything there. It shouldn't be too polished IMO. You really should get a record deal, if there's justice in this world. There's a lot of variety in the songs, and the most important thing, for today's music: The songs aren't too long. You could pick any song there, and it would be a good single. Then again, today's music industry isn't all about music, but rather image, which is kinda sad.

yep...which is why macle needs to post some pics of himself and his girlfriend so that we can collectively doctor them in photoshop like all of the pop stars pictures! heh
 
Hi wes! Glad you like the pics. The hole in the kick drum came that way. Makes it easy to stick a mic in there. The treatment of the room was based mainly on just deadening it for as cheap as possible. So some mattress filler junk and that yellow curtain, etc. Curious to know what you think of Hardcore.

Hi CrankyOne-Thanks a lot! I especially appreciate your comments about not being too polished or too long. I always aim for both of those (the polished one is hard, though, cuz on the one hand you're trying to get as good a sound as possible, but on the other...) And I appreciate what your saying about image and the industry and all that. It's so cool to get feedback that's not based on image or anything, just the music!! :D

man...i really like hardcore. It's a great tune...you really have a great songwriting style going there.

Loving the bass tone....the only thing that sounds a little strange to me (and since you are now my homerecording god...need i say uncharacteristic? hehe)

on the part that says "you don't need anyone...you don't want anything"

I am hearing a very high crackle...almost like a clipping but i am not sure. now...it could just be the "grit" from the voice...I can't tell exactly..i mainly hear it on the words "need...one....want...thing" and then..."it's easy to *be*"

just...a very high crackle there...don't know if you can hear it or not could just be my stuff who knows. If it is the grit in the vocals or something...I dunno...i guess to me it would sound better without it. (not without the grit..just without the crackle)

but, tell your gf she did a great job on that vocal delivery...it's awesome. i was wanting to ask you if either of you guys have had voice lessons? maybe i asked you that before and forgot. but, i am wanting to find a teacher to help me with range a bit...but, really find a good way to put a little more "edge" on my vocals...you guys do a great job of that. later.
