What are the best CD-Rs to burn onto? I'm using a 52x Lite-On burner. Do I have to get a certain CD-R, or does it not really matter?

Most "brands" are probably made by the same company....
I dont think theres much difference, unless you get special ones...
Have had no problems with TDK, Samsung, Fuji....

I can tell you what brand not to buy. I have had BIG problems with Imation (spelling?). One out of every five gave me problems.
Also, NEVER buy the Cool Colors CDR's. I am not sure who made them.. It was either TDK or Memorex I think..

I have had problems with Memorex. TDK seems very reliable.

Your Lite-On burner is the best available at the moment. It is undercutting Plextor bigtime. For you, pretty much any medium will do well.
As for the best medium, anything made in Japan typically gives good resuts. Unfornately, there aren't many anymore. TDK has moved production to Taiwan (or they're buying from a Taiwan company, whatever..) Fujifilm may still be producing in Taiwan. Read the labels I guess.
Finally, always buy the one on sale. I get my 50-CD spindles for $5 or less ALL the time.

I have heard Taiyo Yuden recommended more than anything. This is what I use and have never once had a problem.

I would reccomend you use what other users of "Lite-On" Burners suggest, it seems that some brands work great in some burners, and some horrible.
I have an Adaptec burner, and Verbatims are unreliable for me, unless I burn at 4x or slower.
But Bdgr says that's all he uses anymore! See what I mean?

OK. Now what about the speed of the CD-R? I'm noticing that a lot of them are rated at different speeds; 40x and whatnot. Is this no big deal also?
