has anyone used on of these for music production and recording? Its relativley cheap for an apple product although you have to buy a monitor.

just want to know if it's capable of dealing with the stresses and strains of recording.

Beyond the slow hard drive and old processors, it will be fine. Dont forget that a warranty will run you another 140 quid

It is a better investment than buying a used G5 tower.

Max out the RAM, use an external FW800 drive and you'll be fine.

Sweetwater used to have a tech paper up on their site where they tried to find out how many channels they could record into one before it upchucked. (Using stackable interfaces and an external 7200rpm drive)

....they got up to 60 simultaneous ins before they quit because they were bored....

really? that's pretty awesome lol. Just a pain that you have to buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse but it seems pretty well priced.

Then just buy the cheapest 21.5" iMac...

The whole point of the Mini is that a potential buyer already has a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

My parents love theirs... oh, wait... They don't record music.
