That damn capstan!

The capstan on my relatively new 424mkIII will just NOT STOP
TURNING!! It does'nt effect any of the functions but my $99
condenser mics pick it up from across the room.
I have a cheapo fostex deck with the same problem.
I am very gentle with the thing so.... WTF?

The 424mkIII's capstan motor was designed to run 100% of the time it's on.
