so the two jacks on the front are XLR jacks? what does line level inputs mean? where can I find a preamp or preamps that I can use to plug into the back and how much do they cost? Again, thanks for clearing some questions up. You've already been a great help,
Eric

Hey guy,

Not to bust your chops or anything, but you don't have to start a whole new thread in order to have a discourse with someone. :D

All you have to do is go to to the bottom of his reply, and hit the "POST REPLY" button on the bottom right corner, and your reply will appear right underneath his in the same thread.

Welcome aboard, and good luck solving your problem!

Oh, and by the way, line level just means that you can't just plug a mic in to it. You'd need to first plug the mic in to an external preamp, and then from the preamp to the line-level input of the digi card.

And you can get external preamps at just about any guitar / music / pro audio dealer. Guitar center, Sam Ash, etc. Costs on the preamps range anywhere from $100 to $5,000 depending on the level of quality you seek, how much money you have, and the amount of gear lust you possess. :D

Online, you can order from www.musiciansfriend.com, www.zzounds.com/a--2676837, and you can get some good deals at www.8thstreet.com

A few more options: You can find some really good bang-for-the-buck pres here: http://www.humbuckermusic.com/sigproc.html. You can get some more professional-level pres from these guys: www.sytek.com, And the really high-end high-dollar stuff here: www.mercenary.commicpres1.html,

thanks
