I have not yet had a chance to try out my new (used) Baby Bottle, but I will soon when my son comes over... It looks great!

Before I realized the NT1a shock will work on it, I tried to get the BB shock/pop mount for it, and tomorrow I will let you in on who NOT to do business with... It's a firm that advertises on Ebay...

The CAD e300 sounds beautiful on my 6 year old daughter! I am also looking forward to giving the NT1a's a go...

Thanks for all the opinions.

Question: Is there such a thing as an omni-directional dynamic, or a dynamic with a fairly wide pickup field? I need one for live situation to amplify a small 4 - 5 voice youth choir, assembled in a semi-circle. What models might work? Less expensive is better.

Yes, there is for example the EV 635a, which is also dirt cheap. However a multipattern LDC is also a very handy thing to have in that situation.

OK, just FYI...

I went looking for a Blue Shock/Pop for my Baby Bottle, and no one had one.

So I went on Ebay, finding a seller, MUSICIANSADVOCATE, claiming to have 3 in stock. On another posting they claimed a much higher number of this item in stock.

I did a BUY IT NOW on Oct. 31 for $99.00 (with shipping it came to $111.00).

Never heard from the seller, no response to several emails, so on Nov. 4th I filed a claim with ebay, left negative feedback and filed a claim with Paypal.

Seller THEN emailed to say they had no stock. I requested a refund.

As of today, November 16, seller still hasn't refunded money after several requests, and sent an email saying since I left negative feedback I won't remove, I can just wait for my money...

Paypal says I will have the claim decided in my favor tonight. But it's been a big hassle.

$111.00 isn't small change for me.

Buyer beware...

I hate, hate, hate, (vomit)...........those pricks!

You filed a claim and negged them after four days??? I mean, don't get me wrong, they don't sound like a good seller, but Paypal gives sellers seven days to ship, and there is no hurry to neg a seller, you have 90 days from the transaction date to leave feedback. So I can see why they weren't motivated to help you once you filed.

Also, there are generic shockmounts that will fit a BB, try something like this (I have no experience with this seller, just FYI):

I see your point, and in years of using ebay, this is only the 2nd time I've left negative feedback.

In their ad, they promised response to emails, expedited shipping, and tracking info within 48 hours of purchase... fine.

96 hours later, all I had was total silence even after trying several avenues of contact. I only heard from them after I filed a claim (real quick then). They left negative feedback for me, demanded I remove their feedback, and still wouldn't give my money back. OK, I'll live with the negative feedback.

This was on a Buy It Now deal, and it turns out they NEVER had stock on the item (and aren't likely to anytime soon).

My attitude is, "you never had the item, you never shipped the item -- you have no right to hold the guy's money, just give it back..."

UPDATE** PayPal just settled the claim in my favor. I'll be getting a full refund.

I agree, you were right about them, I just don't see how it benefited you to neg them, it just means you get a retaliatory neg, and doesn't help you get your money, Paypal did that.

I don't really like eBay all that much, I use it only as much as necessary . . .

It seems to have benefitted in two ways. First, it was the impetus for them contacting me. Second, it may help others decide who they want to work with.

Had I looked more carefully through their feedback, I'd have stayed clear.

Believe it or not, they just emailed me saying I won the item in question and would I please send payment... Something is way out of sync.

They caught a lot of flack here for the same kind of stuff a few years back. If you do a search you might find them. I remember that they even got an account and argued with some people on this BBS, and I don't remember what happened after that, but I have always avoided them since.

I find the e300 to be a bit sibilant on six year olds.

You really have to be 6 1/2 to appreciate what that particular mic brings to the table.

Well right now they're telling ebay I have not paid for the item in question that I "won". Unbelievable. They're acting as though PayPal made no decision in my favor.

I am very sorry I ever dealt with them.

BTW, does anyone know a way to contact ebay by phone?

Actually, she's almost 7 (going on 27). When my 19 year old comes home I can finally give all this stuff I bought a real test!

Paypal and eBay, even if they are the same company now, have different rules. The seller is filing an unpaid item report because that is the only way they can recover their fees for the sale from eBay.

Good luck with that.

Yea...all that ebay stuff but what about the mic?! Is it good huh...is it good?! :D

I'm glad it all worked out and the word of mouth on this forum is worthwhile. I for one won't do business with them now. So there. One less honest buyer for them to prey upon.

It's funny, because I had my little one do a quick voice for a commercial I'm doing, using the CAD e300.

It really does sound great, and while it's airey, and open, and, given the text in use, it's not at all sibillant. So I anticipate liking the e300 a great deal on myself. I've always had to be careful on the SP-B1 with my own esses, though my son's are fine. I recently recorded another professional singer who's esses were a bit more noticeable on the B1 (though I was really listening for that).

I'm really anxious to use the Baby Bottle though. Me for narration, my son for singing. Hopefully early in the week I'll really know what I've got (and the eBay mess will be fully over).

I will also be faced with the question... Now that I have a pair of NT1a's, do I sell the pair of B1's?

HAHAHAHA!!!!

those crooks?

no..

better off googling for who the majority shareholder is, and going to his house with a baseball bat.

i hate ebay with all my heart.

on a $1000 sale, i paid about $100 to ebay and paypal (same ownership..), and then paid shipping (under charged the guy $7) and got under $900 from it.

then they over charged me on some fee, and took a month to credit my ebay account, $8. of course, that $8 is useless to me until i'm stupid enough to sell something on there again.

i like craigslist ALOT. cash and carry is the best.
