Hi All,

Was hoping for some feedback on my latest mix "Teutonic Terror", which is originally a song by the band Accept. All critiques welcome and encouraged!

Crunch rhythm guitar sounds nice to me. The distortion is good. But they could use a little more umph. They aren't pumping quite enough. They're also in front of the vocal.

A double tracked vocal might sound good on this tune.

This is really good. Really tight, great vocals. Personally, I would like the rhythm guitar to be more "in your face", more raw. I'm not sure how to describe it other than that it sounds too contained, restrained, smooth, something like that. It's played perfectly, it just seems like the tone is being caged. It seems to me it should be more, I don't know, sandpapery? Does that make sense? Maybe I'm off base, as this isn't really my style of music. My reference point for this kind of thing is old Metallica, so maybe I'm just old and don't know what the kids are doing nowadays. Then again, from what everyone here says, Soundcloud apparently messes with the sound of things, so maybe it's that.

Oh, and I love the lead guitar. That is great just the way it is.

Good job on the vocals. Bass tone is nice and the kick is coming through well, but overall, the low end seems to be lacking a little punch/impact. Just a touch. I want to 'feel' the low end a bit and I'm not really getting that. The guitar tone of the main guitar parts seem appropriate, but there is something lacking in the dynamics or frequency content in some way as if they are either being compressed too much - through the distortion or other compression - or they are 'caged' by EQ choices. Either way, they seem like they could be a little more 'unleashed'.

Is the drum track really that simple in the original. It just sat there in the quiet bits.
Vocals - well, they seem OK but I'm not a fan of Dioesque wails.
Something about the mix made me think, for a few moments, that it was a joke cover - may be the extra loud bvox.

I don't know the original (I only know - like - 2 accept songs), but I'm guessing your vox are cleaner than the original? He's usually pretty gritty.

These vocals are good tho. Nice high-pitched wailing. More The Darkness than Accept, but that's a cool take on it.

Some of the mix is a little muddy to my ears, especially the drums. The snare doesn't really pop. Some of the low vox blend in with the guitars too.

Nice work tho.

very nice work.

here are my two cents,

I think the vocals are too loud, they take me off the song. But i liked the processing very much. just the volume i think.

the lead guitar in the beggining is also too loud, should blend more with the song. While the same guitar on the solo part towards the end seemed more in volume with the rest of the song.

Totally loved the tone you got for the bass.

As for the drums, in my opinion, when trying to listen to this kind of music I expect to have a kick that cuts through the mix and hit me hard on my back. Yours is fat and round and not standing out. It is not bad, this is just my opinion.

good work!

Wow! very professional sounding, amazing vocals, I'm on headphones and the only comment from there is i'm not feeling the low end as I'd expect to?

Great stuff!
