Does anybody know where I can find some free (and legal) .wav files for testing audio systems? I'm looking for music that I can use to critique some speakers. I don't mind if the files are large, I'd rather have the high-end there, rather than the sometimes muddy quality of mp3's. I've found that my mp3's of punk bands aren't going to really test the extreme highs and lows of a system. Thanks for you help.

I'll second that, besides that legal part :), it's all the same to me.

Buy CDs of stuff you'd like to listen to, rip the tracks to wav files on your PC, and voila! high quality wave files to test.

Or you could just play the CDs on your PC via the CD-ROM drive (or CD/RW, DVD-ROM, etc...)

Yeah, that sounds good in theory. But I listen to punk and metal. I'm testing an audio system for quality and I don't think my Minor Threat cd is going to really push the system. I guess I'm looking for some classical wav files that will push the system at all frequencies. Maybe some rock files that will do the same. If there are no free wav files available, fine. But, if there are, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me to them.
Thanks!
