Terratec sound cards?

Anyone here use a Terratec sound card?
They just came out with a 24/96 2in/2out(on balanced 1/4" TRS jack no less) plus it has digital and midi for a list of $99......
It looks as nice as the ECHO MiaMIDI but like 1/2 the price!
Anyone?

Yeah after several adventures with broken soundcards I now own the Terratec EWS 88MT in combination with CEP2 and it works more than great, also looking at the specifications.
Can recommend it to everybody.

I've asked this before in the cep forum, but didn't get much results. Because you've got pretty much the same setup like me, I think you might know :D...
Do you record at 24bits ? And if you do, how ?
I can only choose between 16bits and 32bits.

no I don´t, I barely hear the difference and I´m actually always mixing down to a cd in the final stage, and that´s 16-bit anyhow so I wouldn´t care.

What terratec model are you speaking of for 99$?
Does it handle games well too?
I just need something that has zero latency for playing my bass guitar thru and listening via live input (sonar) and nothing professional really.
I guess you could say I want my cake and eat it too.

Where did you find it for $99?
The only terratec model I find for that price is some phono turntable thing.

Yeah they just annouced it in a few magazines and at harmony central.
Its called PHASE 22, balancedI/O digital and midi!!!!!!
It will probably hit the street for $80-90!!!!!!

Are any of you using monitors?
Because if you are, you'd be hearing the difference, or, maybe you just don't have ears for shit.
Either way, your losing out, because you can def hear the difference.

If you think that´s the way to post when you´ve only got 12 posts, kiss my ass. As I said yeah I do hear the difference but I don´t fucking care because a cd is finally 16-bit after all.

Next time you answer, do it in a normal way. Now fuck off.
 
"hearing" a difference and "listening" for a difference are relative and subjective positions. They can be as different as a cat and a goat I guess. The spec's are impressive on the Terratecs, and several folks are swearing by them. Heck I might go that route myself.

They sound good for what I am doing. Nothing pro that is. I don't have $500 studio monitors, just those roland stereo micro monitors. I probably won't be able to hear a difference anyway.

i'm gettin one laster this month i'll let u guys know how it fairs against my echo audio mia midi
but maybe before that an Ego Waveterminal 192X
seems like a better match
oh you can hear a diff between 24 and 16 but you lose it in a resample maybe not all but most so...........

I just want an answer on a TERRATEC sounc card........
YEs 24 bit can be better depending on your wants!
I prefer to record at 24/96 because my thought on it is that your final product is only as good as what you put into it.
You can(IF)your listening for it hear more noise and less of a clean quiet signal, you hear noise.

But I can say that I have recorded at 16/44.1 for year and its a big step forward in terms of sound and what we all were recording to about 6 or 8 years ago.
ANyway, If you have any input on a TERRATEC SOUNDCARD please let me know, other wise your not helping!

I've got a Terratec Phase 28 (would've bought the 22 if it had been available at the time) and I think it's great for what I do. The converters sound good to my ears, but I've never owned a Delta 1010 or Aardvark Q10 either. It's definitely better than any crappy consumer card I've heard.
 
Terratec phase 22

Terratec is a German (I believe) company that has a very good reputation in Europe. The phase 22 is available in Europe right now and reviews are available at some French-speaking web sites. It looks equivalent to the M-Audio 2496. I'll buy one when they are available from the US distributor at the usual US web sites (Fostex is the US distributor and their T50RP headphones are very nice -- I just got a pair...)

I just recently discovered via a major publication that Terratec and M-Audio you use the same exact converters for their cards (at least for the older Terratec cards..i.e.Ews88MT).
