TerraTec pops and Hiss??

Hi


I have bought a terratec phase 22 card. Now I get cracks and hiss sounds and sometimes even
pauses in the sound stream.
This is when playing both audio cds and music files with different players and then at the same time
writting or surfing on the net or doing anything else that uses cpu.
As long as I do not do anything while listening to a musicfile it works ok. But when I play a cd I do not
have to do anything to make it unstable.

I cannot update the control panel and get this error
when trying (THE drivers CAN be updated it seems)

I guess the problem is within a bad driver or something.......

I have now moved my terratec card so it is now on its own irq too..

What is going on here ?

I have windows xp home ed. sp1 updated and a
amd athlon xp
1600 mhz
80 gb hd
512 mb ram
nvidia chipset on a ecs motherboard

try completely removing the control panel and drivers. then go to terratec's webpage and download the newest version of the driver. I have the Terratec EWS88/MT and I had a similar problem but mine was solved with a quicker computer. I thought that might be your problems until i read your computer specs. Its more than capable. Sounds like driver problems to me.

I did the following with no success
removed both my net and soundcard
removed all the drivers and folders
restarted and then placed the cards in
the pc again and did download the newest
drivers ......

Still the same problem and the control panel cannot
be installed.

Maybe the control panel is the same version as the one I have
on my terratec cdrom(THIS one on the cdrom WILL install!)

I mean if I am trying to install the same version control panel again.......


Any good suggestions?
Is the phase 22 a good card or should I buy a new one where the driver
is working ?

When the card is just playing musicfiles in winamp or even in
music software like cubase sx2 and logic audio platinium is sounds great.

It is only when I start typing or surfing that the sound changes.....

Them there is the problem with audio cds playing on my cd player in the
pc but I normally use my external cdplayer for this though....
