I haven't done a song in a long while. Here's one I wrote and recorded in a couple hours. It's as raw as a just-hunted venison. Let me know what you think!

The bass guitar is very muffled. The precussion (hitting the guitar?) is really 'in front' compared to everything else, maybe some EQ/compression or reverb on it would make it sit better. Song-wise, I'd like to hear some kind of change in the guitar's rhythm - the strum is exactly the same throughout the song, never any variation.

Pretty much exactly what I thought when posting this sans the rhythm, though now that you said it, I hear it completely. It may work for the usual two minute songs I do, but this one is over four!

The guitar sounds very brittle. I can really hear the pick stroking the strings. It coud use more warmth.
The very first harmony is very off tune. Most of them are a bit off. The "meeeeee" parts are very nasally. Occasionally there was a nice one.
Bass is muddy. Try some mid range boost to add definition.

I don't intend to do anything to the mix as I'll probably re-record everything, the main reason being is that I don't think this song is finished. It's too damn long. I can handle four minute songs when they're bands, but I like to make 2 min stuff when I'm just doing me stuff.

Thanks! Literally wrote this in maybe two hours. I suppose I should have posted this in the Composition forum. I just wanted to know if I was heading in a good direction. Thanks for letting me know!

The main vocal pokes out too much in places, like at 1.37. Level automation and compressor.
The percussion: redo it, cuz it's got timing issues.
I mean, you could cut and paste bits to make it work, but it's such a simple part that the easiest and most fun thing would be to do it again.
This one's got a lo-fi sound, which I like. But if you do it again, think more about arrangement - either make it shorter, or make it more interesting with the addition of some different elements.
