Hi Guys..

I have a Mex Telecaster (James Burton Reissue) and it is buzzing like crazy on all pickups when I use any kind of distortion. I know it's not string noise....but I am not sure what the problem could be. Any ideas? Thanks!

Possibly the battery in your Distortion box or problem with adapter if you are using one? Seems related to distortion box if clean stuff is alright.

Are you using batteries in the stomp box, or an ac adapter.

I have tried my V-AMP2, Marshall Pre, and direct into my Laney Pro Tube.
With the Gain turned up, it's awful. As I turn the gain down it gets more bearable. I realize it could be that it's a single coil but it shouldn't be buzzing this bad.

With my pickup selector in the middle, it's quieter....but the neck and bridge pickups (by themselves) are noisy as hell.

Thanks for the replys.

Sounds like single coils. Try turning slowly around, you'll find one narrow orientation that reduces the buzz to a manageable level. Record in that position.
