Got an old homemade tele--great neck, but knockoff electronics. Thinking of upgrading the pickups. Any strong opinions?

You will probably get recommendations for Guitar Fetish, but know all their stuff is made in China. I HATE made in Chi-crappa stuff.

I've used their stuff before (and liked it) but didn't know it was Chinese made. (maybe I should've figured that out.) Thanks for the heads up!

Hmm...I may be able to afford the pickups, but I doubt Roy would sell me fingers, mind or soul. I'm thinking I'd need a combination of all of them to sound that good!

If only it were that simple, eh? I have to say, I really love these pups. The only word that springs to mind when describing them is 'lush', but there's definitely a woody, Strat-like snap to the neck. I have a pair of BKP country boys which are somewhat bland by comparison.

I love that description: lush. I know my tele's supposed to bite and twang, but it should be lush at the same time, huh? That's exactly what I'm looking for.

Cool! I bought a Tele because I was going through a huge Springsteen phase at the time. I hadn't really thought about bite and twang, I use mine mostly in the neck position for Robert Smith style rhythm. I can't speak highly enough of BKP though, if I had the time and money I'd put them in all my guitars. Might get around to bluesifying my Strat with a set of Irish Tours.
