I would greatly appreciate some help here fellas.

Guitar- Schecter Diamond Series Omen 6

Problem - produces static/noise when plugged into any amps / sound cards.

Specifics:

- Static / hum noise will not shut the f*ck up
- does not send any string signals unless I TOUCH ANY METAL PART OF THE GUITAR (knobs, tuning gears, strings, etc)
- checked the amps/cables/pedalboard with another guitar, everything else is fine
-happened pretty much right after I changed to Super Slinky Ernie Ball strings. (However the working guitar just recieved Ernia Ball Slinky Strings and works just fine)

If any of you know why this is happening I would greatly appreciate at least an explanation as to why this is happening.

Possibly the ground wire to the input jack may have come loose. It's definately a grounding problem

It could be as simple as a loose nut on the output jack. Check that and the ground wire from the jack to the rest of the electronics.

If he knew what a ground wire is/does he would have been able to diagnose the problem himself...

One thing I can assure you of ...... it has nothing to do with your choice of strings.

Definitely a ground issue and definitely not anything to do with string choice.

Do you know how to solder?
