Technical death metal intro- how does it sound?

Hi guys, as well as my more ambient/electronic chilled out stuff, I play guitar on another project and I was wondering what you all think of the mix so far. I'm thinking of changing the kick drum to be more sharper and changing a few things with the eq but it would be great to get a different perspective or two to my current mix to see how I can improve it in ways which I am missing myself.

Definitely change to kick to a more aggressive tone.

Alternatively, you can try EQing the kick by cutting around 250-600 Hz to get rid of that boxy sound; I think that would be more of the kick sound you're aiming for. You can also try boosting around 2-5 kHz to increase the click of the beater.
 
Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a try tomorrow and see how it sounds. It definitely needs more punch that's for sure
