Hi folks!

I just purchased a dead TEAC 5 for 40 bucks. I'm hoping to bring it back to life. When I plugged it in, the meters lights up so hopefully it's not the power. However I'm unable to get any sound, signal or get any movement on the meters. So my plan is to gut the board and clean it with using the CAIG kit. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated in my venture back to analog gear. Thanks!

Tip number 1

Ensure that all the jumpers are in place before you determine that the board is in fact dead! The TEAC 5 used short little RCA to RCA jumper cables on all the channel inserts and on the program busses as well, if memory serves me. Without those jumpers in place, no sound will pass through the board.

Cheers! :)

Ghost is right, I have one of these boards. I'm not there right now, but I think they are acc send acc rcv or some such. FYI I bought a M-520 that was missing these, and had to get a crapload of short rca cables to replace them with.
