TC-Helicon VoiceOne as VST or DXi Plug-In?

Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right section to post this, but I recently experimented with a borrowed TC-Helicon VoiceOne unit. It's a nifty device, with a wide variety of auto-tuning, pitch changing, and voice altering patches.

Unfortunately though, it's a rack-mounted unit. So getting audio in and out of it from Cakewalk's Sonar in my PC to this unit is a bit of a chore.

Does anybody make something similar to the VoiceOne, but as a VST, or preferably, a Dxi plug-in? I have the Dxi version of the Antares Auto-Tune, but I'd love to be able to have the voice modeling capabilities of the VoiceOne as a patch in Sonar.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

Regards,

Ed

I would certainly get the DX version because Sonar is built to use them. If you get the VST version, you need a wrapper and you then get one more connection that may fail (it probably won't but...) ;)

And just a little thing: The "i" in DXi and VSTi stands for Instrument. Voice One and Auto-Tune is effects, and falls under the DX/VST category. NI B4, etc are instruments and are therefore DXi/VSTi. :)

Moskus,

Thanks for your tip, and the correction on the proper terminology (which I appreciate), but unfortunately, neither really answers my question. I wasn't asking, "should I get something in either VST or DX", I was wondering if such technology actually exists in either format.

Regards,

Ed

They make VST software that allows you to edit the paramaters of the VoiceOne rack mounted unit via a PC. But I don't believe they make an actual VST VoiceOne plugin. If I'm wrong, let me know--I'd love to have this sort of capability as a plug-in.

Woops! Sorry for the mixup, Ed! I should have read your post...

The VoiceOne, controlled via VST, looks cool! But I haven't heard of software that does the exact same thing...

No, TC Electronics don't make a VST/DX version of their rack mounted unit.

If you don't want the rack mounted version, I'll willingly pay shipping for it:D
