sorry taylor, ill let you get right back to it.

but avrail had the best sig guitar of the decade.

i agree its shit, but at least only idiots buy the shit

Here are a few things to think about...

She has started with nothing, and did not have an already famous daddy to get her signed to a major label, or get her on a TV show...

She has a large catalog of songs she has written already and has not released.

She writes the music and composes the parts the musicians play on her albums.

She was THE number one selling artist in either 07 or 08 (can't remember)

And if you get down to it she actually can play the guitar pretty well in her own right, though she is no Keith Urban. Last I saw she could bang out chords as good as most of the members here and she can fingerpick as well.

Now as for her music... I am a dude I don't really give a crap about her angsty tear jerker songs about teenage boys.

But if you look at the person there you might find that she is not the celeb who is getting busted for doing crack in the bathroom backstage. Or the one gettting caught on tape having sex.

If I have a Daughter of my own some day I would be happy to let her listen to Taylor Swift CDs at least she would have a hard working roll model to look up to who is paying more dues than anybody on this forum.

Frankly if the signature guitar gets more little girls to play an instrument and write their own music then I think it is just fine and dandy! How many of you have kids who play a guitar?

So she has a signature model guitar... GREAT!

Good for her I am sure she is not at all concerned that you don't think she has earned it.

107 posts about a taylor swift guitar.

lolz.

108 now ;)

Praise the sweet lord jesus that you put that last bit in, or I would have felt compelled to have posted... 'No, 108" then realising that was now inaccurate followed up quickly with subsequent posts saying "No, 109", "No, 110" etc.

I may never have been able to leave the keyboard and play my signature Taylor Swift Taylor geetar again...

You are my hero...:)

You know, for the guitar maker it all comes down to one simple thing - can I make a profit on it? That's the whole thing.

Take Martin. They did a really small run of Linda Ronstadt Signature guitars - and have sold something less than 25% of them, and have no plans to make any more. They can sell every single Eric Clapton Signature model they make. Jim Olson did a run of 25 James Taylor Signature Models (starting at $25,000!), and they were sold out within weeks of his announcing he was doing it. (Then again, a month or two ago, Jim told us about a spec guitar he built for $35,000. He put it on his website, and it was sold in under an hour.)

I'm not sure how well a Taylor Swift guitar will do. It will, I think, depend a lot on the price point. If it is an expensive guitar, it will never sell, because expensive guitars are usually bought by older white men who are interested in really serious guitar music (i.e., not pop songs). If it is less expensive, it may draw a shit load of young women who want to learn to play so they can write songs. Which is perfectly cool by me.

Of course, I've never heard a thing Taylor Swift has done, so what do I know. On the other hand, Taylor has been pretty savvy about such things. They wouldn't have done it if they didn't think it would be profitable.

............

Dude, I pointed this out to everyone way back nearly a hundred posts ago (#27). Let them have their fun.;)

I won't comment on her signature guitar, but she's 20 years old and I think she's hotter than all hell. Looking absolutely stunning on SNL this week. And she had a surprisingly funny monologue song.

I assume that's her signature guitar she's playing, and actually it does look very nice*. So I guess I did comment on it after all!

* (it could just be spillover hotness from Taylor the blonde onto Taylor the guitar)

Fuck!!! it all makes sense now!!!! Kanye wasn't steppin up for Beyonkee?!

He was just jealous casue taylor is on the Tu-Pac business model...

DUH??!?!!?!

This thread is quite entertaining. I have a 14 year old daughter. She likes Taylor Swift. Also likes Monk, Cannonball Adderly, Charlie Parker, Art Pepper, as well as a whole raft of teen pop musicians who I can't remember (most aren't particularly memorable). She plays a pretty decent alto sax for a kid. Taylor Swift is one of the reasons she is also learning to play guitar (CIJ Fender Floral Telecaster reisssue). If that provides her sufficient incentive to keep up with her lessons, I think it's great! Of course she hasn't yet asked me for a Taylor Swift Signature Model guitar (right now she ONLY wants a late 60s or early 70s Thinline Tele - not a repro, Dad! -- yeah, right):D
