Just curious if anyone here is using or knows someone who has used Taye RockPro series drums. I'm looking to add another set of drums to the collection and was checking out this 8 pc. shellpack http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...ce-Double-Bass-Drum-Set-Shell-Pack?sku=445560
Before I get blasted with "save money and buy more expensive drums" comments, I'll give you the circumstances for the purchase. I already own a nice Mapex Saturn kit which is my studio kit, and have a Pearl/Tama kit, for our rehearsal space. Basically what I am looking for is an inexpensive shell kit to bring to the clubs maybe once or twice a month, and to bring to various other sessions I might get called to do. I'm only really concerned about the quality of the shells, as I'll be using hardware that I already have laying around to build this kit, and obviously use a "best of" of my cymbals.
I am pretty much sold on these Taye drums (Ray Ayotte is the president after all), but would be interested in hearing any stories you all may have to share regarding any Taye experiences. I am looking at possible purchase in 2 weeks. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. ThanX!!!
