I bought this recently and it has worked quite well. I am happy with the result. I notice some people complain of a buzz or crackle. I can get that if I turn it all they way up but just turn it down a smidge and it's no problem. I'm really happy with the way it is working.

I'm having a little problem with the volume. Maybe you can help. I can hear sounds from the 144 with a headset plugged in (although the volume is very low), but when I try to record into my laptop (no matter which program I use...Audacity, for example), I can't adjust the recording level using the computer's "Adjust Audio Properties" option. The computer recognizes the 144 as the source, but the volume button is grayed-out and doesn't open up any controls, and the signal barely registers on any of the recording meters.

Got any ideas?
