Tascam Porta One price?

whats a good price for one of these units?

I take it I can use the 4 tape outs to multi track into my main rig?

are there any other alternatives to this machine with four inputs and outs?

I'm not sure on the price, as I haven't seen one in a while, but I would suspect around $75 or so for one in good shape.

There are lots of alternatives with 4 ins and direct outs:

Tascam 424 Mk II and Mk III
Tascam 246
Tascam 244
many other Tascams

Yamaha MT4X

Fostex 380
Fostex 250
Fostex XR-7

To name just a few

I'd recommend one of these over the Porta One because of its limited EQ and the fact that it doesn't run at high speed (IIRC).

Thanx...prices were above $200 for the tascam...Ill look into the others
