I'm thinking of getting a pair of these are they any good? I've heard surprisingly good drum recordings done with these as overheads but I'd like to hear from users if there are any here.

I have a PE 125 Electret Condensor. It makes an outstanding hi hat mic. Also very good on electric guitars. Used it as an overhead live and it worked very well there too.

Depending on the price, I would get another. The only annoying part is the battery only operation.

Batterys huh? How many and what kind if you don't mind? Have you ever heard of the 120?

I asked either Tex or Track about these a few weeks ago. They were good in their day, but they've been surpassed by better mics.

I'm still thinking about getting one though.

I have a pair of PE-80s. I'm not sure what the number designators stand for, I think it's polar pattern. Mine are cardiod. They do use a single AA battery, no phantom power capability. I read somewhere that Phil Collins used to like them. They're not horrible but unless you're getting them for a real good price or you just want another color in a small diaphram condensor, I think there are better bangs for your buck out there.

That's about what I paid for mine when they were new. Like I said, if you already have a pair of SDCs then these would be an OK addition to the locker. If these are to be your only pair, personally I'd be looking at something else like Octavas or the Marshall 603's.
