Hello everybody
I´m Marc from Germany and i wanna know somethin´ of the quality of my Tascam M 520.
I was thinkin´about to change to a Behringer Eurodesk MX 8000A or a Behringer Danalog DDX 3216.

I hope somebody can help me to find out what´s better, cause in Germany i cannot find somebody who uses the Tascam M 520.

Thanks for answering
Marc

I have been using the Digi mixer for 2 years for both live use and for recording, hooked up to an Alasis HD24 thru an ADAT board in the mixer.
The ergonomics take some getting used too but once mastered I find that they become second nature.

The thing is built like a tank (too heavy for live work?) and I hav'nt a clue how they make it for the money as there appears to be no corners cut.

The FX are very usable and should not be compared with those on the UB series which quite frankly SUCK.

The MIC pre,s are quiet and while by no means esoteric do a good job but be very careful with gain settings, I find I have to use the -20db pad on nearly every mic to prevent any chance of clipping the ADC,s but I do use mainly condenser Mics with a high output.

I to use the DDX3216 for live and studio along side an Alesis HD24. I've never had any trouble and I'm very happy. The board is clean and very transparent even for live sound. It's great to have compressors on every channel when using it live.

Have you any idea what audio card to use if i want to have the full 32 channels in mixdiwn.
Can i cascade 2 of the RME HDSP 9636?

Lets backup. You asked about a mixer now we're on audio cards. What are you tring to do? Be able to record 32 tracks into you PC at once from a digital mixer? If thats the case I would get the behringer DDX3216 with 2 ADT1616 cards (ADAT cards for the DDX3216 so you have 32 channels of ADAT in and out of the DDX3216) Then I'd look at a MOTU 2408.This would give you 24 channels of ADAT plus you can link up to four 2408's or 1224 expanders thus giving upto 96 channels if ADAT. You could come out of the Tascams direct outs direct into the motu 2408 and skip the digial mixer all togather. If you're ok with 48khz you can get the Motu 2408II from $250-300us used on ebay. The new Motu 2408III 96khz is around $900.00us new.

I'm just not sure what you want to do.

Hello deepwater.

I was thinkin´about to have 32 channels in mixdown. With the behringer you can only record 16 channels at the same time because you have to route the signals to the 16 busses.
There is no way to take them from direct outs like on a analog desk.
But yesterday i was at my local Behringer dealer in Stuttgat and checked out the DDX.
Now i think my analog Tascam sounds much better then the digital Behringer.

thanks for helping me
Marc

No you can have 32 channels a once. You just have to have 2 ADT1616 cards which will do 16 channels each. You'll need to go to the I/O menu and assign the first ADT1616 1-8 to channels 1-8/9-16 to channel 9-16 then the second ADT1616 1-8 to channels 17-24 and 9-16 to 25-32. Whats also cool is you can record and track on channel 1-16 and play back/mixdown on 17-32. I would suggest using so better pres. And just use the behringer for digital mix down

Thanks for help, deepwater
I will check this out and then maybe get a Behringer.
