I'm not sure I understand your question ---

Are you trying to transfer tapes made on the 688 to a digital format? If so, is it just for archiving or for further work?

Or are you just trying to set it up so that you can use the 688 mixer?

I guess I was not specific enough....I own a 688 midi/studio..but do not have a room decent to record in,sooooooo thought digital would work out better. What do I need to do without getting rid of the 688? I'm a newbie....with the mind power of a vegetable....

My drummer has a 688. He picked up a PC and installed a Delta1010LT soundcard (it's capable 10 tracks simultaneously) and has been transfering old tapes to the computer to continue processing etc. using Cakewalk/Sonar.

Thanks

Thanks for the Info Montage...I am still getting other info before I actually do it...about best mics , etc...this should work... :)
