Tascam M48, any thoughts

I believe that's from the 80's.... the 48 is the higher end version of the 38-8, with the 58 being the top of the line for that generation. These were then followed by the TSR-8, late 80's early 90's, and then that was the end for mid-level reel - reel Tascams.

Looks like you got a good machine at a real good price.

Lucky lucky you! I was watching that one but alas, I am a couple weeks away from having my machine money all together!!! I found another for $399 obo plus shipping. The shipping on yours is really inexpensive, maybe $15 less than ups quoted me so please report back after you receive it. Make sure it is packaged well :-) before it leaves.

Very nice machine and hopefully there will be a few out there when I get my $$ together! If it's in good shape you got an insanely good deal, 38s are going for more than that and the 48 is a step up, into pro territory (and then there's the 58 above that...).
