Tascam M 3500 : Problems

I really am thinking about buying this desk but today when I went to work (I work at a music store where an M 3500 came in on trade) and was fooling with it I noticed that the Meter Bridge has a smell of electronic heat or burning. You cannot smell it unless you get right on it and sniff. I was wondering if this oder is a common thing. Looking for feedback from any other tascam m 3500 owners.
