I am looking to upgrade my studio and to replace some older equipment. After consulting with a sales rep from a popular company, he suggested for me to get the new FW-1884. After examining all of the features of this control surface, I decided that by next week I was going to dish out $1000 for this marvel.
Today I was advised by a friend not to invest in this because Tascam has not devulged the type of converter this unit has and that it is too new and to little feedback from consumers is available right now.
He suggests the Tascam SX-1 which supposedly has a remarkable converter - but it is not firewire compatible. Supposedly I can find one cheaper now than the 1884 and it is by far superior, according to him.
Has anyone in this forum used or have any info regarding any of these products. This is my first post here. I would appreciate any feedback.
