Tascam DP004

I am a newB and picked up a Tascam DP004 to record my 12 year old son playing guitar. I have a couple questions to get started.

1. To record several different songs, do I have to stop between each and create a new name and then record the next song under the new name? My son is in a school jazz band and I would like to use the DP004 to record their performance. Maybe better to make it one long recording so I don't have to mess with it? Spit it up later?

2, After recording 2 tracks using the built in mics, I can play back the recording, but I don't see the recording on the SD card. Can I take the tracks and then master - mix down using reaper? Any tips?

Best bet for the concert is to just let 'er rip, till the concert is over, then save the file.

I would guess that, like the DP-01, you must save the file before the machine "really" has it captured. On the 01, if you turn the machine off before saving the file, everything you recorded since last save of that file is lost.

Don't ask me how I know this...
