TASCAM DP-02CF and Cubase?

How does the Tascam DP-02CF connects with cubase?
Does it read the track data from CF Memory Card or does it actually controls the DP-02CF with drivers?

The owners manual i already have but the other manual regarding CF-Cards en spec's is very helpful.
